Kenya Defence Force (KDF) Ulinzi Taekwondo team stamped its authority after sweeping both men and women titles and crowned overall champions at the Eldocity Taekwondo League Championship held in Eldoret over the weekend.
The two-day tournament, held on July 18-19, 2026 brought together 20 teams from clubs and institutions across the country in what organisers described as one of the most competitive events on the national taekwondo calendar.
Ulinzi’s athletes displayed discipline, technique and teamwork to finish top of the medal table with six gold, six silver and three bronze medals.
The dominance was evident across all weight categories as the service team beat stiff competition from civilian clubs to claim the men’s and ladies’ team trophies.
Daniel Okello of KDF team was named Player of the Tournament after an outstanding performance in the featherweight category.

The player showcased exemplary leadership, discipline and skill throughout the championship.
Team Manager and Warrant Officer in Charge, KDF Ulinzi Taekwondo, Silas Wesonga, said the tournament was crucial for the team’s build-up to upcoming international assignments.
“This was an excellent opportunity for early preparation ahead of two major international competitions. The exposure and competitive experience gained here will be instrumental in enhancing the team’s readiness and performance on the global stage,” he said.
Ulinzi are now turning their focus to the 29th CISM World Military Taekwondo Championship set for Tehran, Iran from December 1-8, 2026, and the Summer World Military Games scheduled for Charlotte, North Carolina, USA from June 25 to July 4, 2027.

With depth in both men and women divisions, the military side will be hoping to translate their domestic dominance into medals on the world stage.
The Eldocity League was hailed by the Kenya Taekwondo Federation as a key platform for talent identification ahead of the international season.
