Kenya Association of Physicians (KAP) President Dr. Erick Njenga says collaboration in the health sector is not optional it is essential to address the challenges and share experiences the sector has faced over time.

Health systems are under increasing pressure from non-communicable diseases, climate-related health threats, and the evolving landscape of infectious diseases.

However, there is also a rising tide of opportunity through artificial intelligence, real-world clinical evidence, regional training programs, and integrated health approaches.

For Dr. Njenga and his counterparts across East, Central, and Southern Africa, the goal is not just to discuss these issues but to ignite lasting partnerships that will reshape healthcare delivery from the ground up.

This comes as KAP and the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACOP) prepare to co-host a landmark event the 10th ECSACOP and 28th KAP Annual Scientific Conferences, scheduled for 27th to 30th August 2025 at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Mombasa.

“We must lean on collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice to drive meaningful progress and ensure that no community is left behind,” says Dr. Njenga, his words echoing the conference’s overarching theme: “Fostering Regional Partnerships for Health Innovation and Research in Africa.”

At the scenic PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, physicians, researchers, policymakers, and trainees will come together not just to share knowledge but to build bridges. Bridges between disciplines. Between nations. Between research and reality.

For the 15 ECSACOP-trained specialists who will graduate during the conference, this gathering marks not just the end of their training, but the beginning of their journey as leaders in a new era of African medicine.

“True progress in healthcare will come when we stop working in silos and start building together across borders, institutions, and disciplines.”

The Kenya Association of Physicians (KAP) is a professional organization representing physicians in Kenya, dedicated to promoting excellence in healthcare through research, education, and advocacy.

The East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACOP) is a regional institution focused on harmonizing and strengthening postgraduate training in internal medicine across the region.

The conference promises a rich program featuring keynote speeches, scientific sessions, policy dialogues, and networking opportunities, all aimed at shaping the future of healthcare in Africa.
