Equity Afya Healthcare now in Kilifi County

Equity Afya, a healthcare initiative by Equity Group Foundation, has opened its newly 134 outpatient medical facility in Kilifi town, thus, strengthening its network of healthcare access points in the Coast region.

The facility located at High View Plaza along the Mombasa-Malindi highway will serve residents with full range of general and specialist healthy services.

Addressing journalists during the launching, Dr Harrison Genya who is the facility doctor in-charge, said the hospital’s latest expansion was part of its mission to make quality medical care more accessible.

“The facility provides a range of services including dental care, nursing, material and child healthcare, eye care, ultrasound, nutrition services, consultants with doctors among other key services.”

He said the new branch was the second in Kilifi County and 10th in the Coast region.

The doctor disclosed the critical role of outreach centres in closing healthcare gaps in the region and country at large.

“The opening of this facility symbolises hopes and inclusion for many Kenyans who rely on private providers like the Equity Afya.”

He noted that Kenyans’ health facility-to-population ratio stood at 2.4 per 10,000 underscoring the urgency of improving access.

Equity Afya managing director Dennis Ogola emphasised the center’s commitments to quality and convenience.

“This facility is not just a building, its a promise to deliver quality and accessible care to the people of Kilifi, the center will uphold the quality standards that define our care and with well trained staff,” he said.

He disclosed that the facility already operates other five branches in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

However, he added that the facility is designed to serve both individuals and families, aiming to improve early detection outpatients care and health outcomes across the Coast region.
