Umoja Summit Party of Kenya national executive committee has called on the government to form a commission of inquiry to investigate abductions and extrajudicial killings.

The NEC members, led by party leader Godfrey Kanoti, said the government should not remain silent, but stop young Kenyans abductions and killings.

According to him if the commission is formed it will investigate who are the perpetrators of the ongoing intimidations, abductions and killing of Kenyans viewed as critical of the current regime.

“The government should establish a commission of inquiry to investigate those behind the killing of our youths. Killing the young Kenyans simple means killing the future and if it will not be addressed then it means the government has failed,” he said.Addressing journalists at La Benderas Beach Hotel in Kilifi town after launching the party membership countrywide recruitment exercise, Kinoti disclosed that if the matter remain unresolved such acts could plunge the country into chaos because there was no law that supported abductions.

“If the government fails to establish a mechanism of addressing these heinous acts, then will fall rapidly retrogressing back the dark days when attacks were done to still fear to those opposing the government.”

USPK secretary general Barrack Muluka condemned abductions saying they have no place in the spirit and law of the 2010 Constitution.

They should have no place in a democratic country like ours.”

The SG challenged security agents to ensure they safeguard the rights and well-being of every Kenyan.

He added that they must let citizens know who is perpetuating these abductions and arrest them.

Party secretary for special interest groups Nakiyiai Kipish (Kajiado County) urged youth to access information through technology so as to interrogate the quality of people they want to elect as national political leadership.

“It’s high time we elect leaders of known moral values and integrity not people who are merchants of impunity and peddlers of corruption.

Let’s us critically cross-examine the candidates. As youth we have the numbers to put good leaders and change this country.
