Saturday, 25th of Jan, 2025, was the day that marked the launch of our 2025 KCSE class.
We celebrated the historic 2024 performance with pomp and colour, but winners don’t celebrate for too long, for they have to ensure sustainability of their win.
The Bahari 2025 class are the Juaguars; they can conquer the land and the sea.
During the launch, I was the chief guest and had to ensure the girls were supper charged and motivated to work towards outdoing the Sharks, the 2024 historic heroines.
When I stood up to give my speech, the girls were excited, and I gave them a chorus. This is important because:
“we can all sing, but in the absence of a chorus, then any song will not be a hit.”
I told them whenever I said, “IF you don’t have a name?” THEN; They were to respond in a chorus: “Just work hard and remain disciplined”
I began by telling them that our KCSE heroine, Grace Sidi, the A [Plain] of 83 giant, didn’t have a name prior to her exemplary performance.
But I told them she is trending in Kilifi, coast, nationally and virtually, globally. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
I reiterated that the school didn’t have a big name. But, the 2024 KCSE results have placed the school higher and now a household name in Kilifi, Kenya, and internationally. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
The Member of Parliament for Kilifi North and Deputy Leader of Majority in Parliament Owen Baya came and celebrated with the girls.
He brought with him two steers for the girls to slaughter and have a party. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
In addition, Baya told the girls as per his promise during the prize giving ceremony of the Eagles of 2023 that a breakage of the glass ceiling with an A [Plain] is a ticket to a brand 22 Million Scania bus.
During the celebrations, the MP said that in 90 days, the Scania bus will be in Bahari Girls. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
The 003 Governor Gideon Mng’aro celebrated with us by providing over 300 kg of the best rice, Fatma, Keringet water, and sodas for the girls to have a real party.
In addition, he promised to put cabros to the road that led to the school. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
The Board of Management [BOM] promised students that whoever would break the glass ceiling with an A [Plain] joins the Bahari Girls Flight Club [BGFC].
Heroine Grace return flight is ready, and all trip expenses are well on course courtesy of the BOM. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
Finally, the BOM promised staff for a treat. Non-teaching staff will retreat to a beach hotel, while the teaching staff to Zanzibar. IF you don’t have a name? Just work hard and remain disciplined.
