Four Arrested in Connection to Robbery in Likoni Mayhem

Police in Mombasa County have arrested four suspected machete-wielding criminals in connection to the Likoni Friday night attack.

The four among them two juveniles aged 17 were arrested on Sunday 2 August at around 0005hrs midnight.

The two others were identified as Mabruki Hamadi Hassan aged 25 and Rama Salim 30, according to a police report.

The four were arrested today at around 0005hrs and are suspected to have been involved in the robbery with violence.

The robbers are aiding the police with investigation,’ reads the police report in part.

The suspects are believed to have attacked 50-year-old Shadrack Mweru and Ms. Anyango Auma 28, on Friday night seriously injuring them.

Mweru had his left hand cut while Ms Auma’s left hand thumb was chopped off, while her head was also injured.

The elderly man was attacked outside his house while he was on a phone call.

The second victim was hit as she was heading home after buying supper.

The Mombasa county investigation officer, Antony Murithi, who addressed the media at Likoni police station warned the remaining criminals who are still at large to surrender before the law takes its course.

Murithi at the same time urged Mombasa residents to share information on any criminal related activities with the security agents.

He says that is the only sure way of getting rid of some of the bad characters in society.
