Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party leader and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has begun drumming up support for ODM Harry Kombe who is the broad-based government candidate for the November 27, 2025 Magarini by-election.

Kingi together with his top party officials toured Mwangatini in Magarini Constituency where they announced that they will back Kombe to finish his term as he was the candidate fit to be area MP.

Speaking during official handing over of borehole he built through support from Chinese Embassy, the speaker warned residents against voting for the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s candidate saying he should not get even a single vote as he was against Coastal leaders getting position when he was in office.

The speaker who was accompanied by Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, PAA Secretary General and Ganze MP Kenneth Kazungu, former Marafa Ward MCA Renson Kambi among other party leaders.

In his speech, Kingi said there was no need for electing a newcomer in Magarini as the time remaining ahead of 2027 general election was too short and a new candidate would never deliver anything to the people.

He said President William Ruto deserved a second term because he had united the country by bringing all regions in his government and was in the forefront in ensuring equity and unity of the nation for development purposes.

On his part, the party SG said they would support the broad-based candidate for now but in 2027 they will have their own candidate as they want their party to win as many seats as possible in Coast and other regions.

Kilifi senator said as leaders they would speak in one voice so that Coast region becomes strong which will enable them champion for development.

Residents thanked the senate speaker for brining donors to build the borehole as they had suffered a lot for decades in terms of accessing water due to hippos that were threatening lives of the residents.

However, they appealed to the speaker and donors to acquire a water purifier as the water was salty.
