Presidential political advisor Karisa Nzai has asked coastal leaders to publicly support and defend Kenya Kwanza government’s policies saying they were geared towards transforming the region’s development, good governance, and youth empowerment.
Speaking during a high-level meeting with former Mombasa Mayor Ahmed Modhar, the advisor emphasized the importance of regional unity and proactive engagement with the national government in order to realize tangible progress.
“I call upon Coast leaders to defend the Kenya Kwanza government’s policies aimed at uplifting the region’s development prospects.”
The meeting focused on a range of issues, including youth-centered programs, infrastructural development, healthcare improvements, and education.
He noted that the region has, for years, lagged behind in national development due to its historical alignment with opposition politics.

“The Coast region has been at the receiving end of unfavorable government allocations due to consistently staging opposition. It’s high time our leadership embraces the government of the day to benefit from the national cake.”
The former Jomvu MCA praised the KKA administration for its historic appointments of coastal leaders to key national positions saying it was an indication of President Ruto’s commitment to inclusive governance.
“I am happy to note that tremendous progress is taking shape, and a win-win situation is evident from the appointments entrusted to our coastal leaders by our administration. This is historical.”
According to him the ongoing collaboration between local leaders and the national government would unlock significant development opportunities in the region.
“A step at a time, we shall attain the much-desired results and achieve our goals.”
The advisor expressed gratitude to former Mayor Modhar for his support and hospitality during the meeting.

“Thank you very much for the warm reception, Mayor Modhar. As agreed, we shall walk the talk going forward.”
His meeting with Modhar marked a renewed push by KKA to bridge historical gaps and ensure that the Coast region benefits fully from the national development initiatives under President Ruto’s leadership.
