Kinango residents bordering wildlife corridors have been assured of quick solutions from Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) to their perennial human-wildlife conflict.
Deputy Government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga said KWS has come up with the best solution to stop the animal menace.
Speaking at Taru Trading Centre in Kinango Constituency over the weekend while distributing relief food to victims of marauding elephants that destroyed their farm crops, Mwananisha said the government has a permanent solution to the problem that would be underway soon.
“As the President said last week when he visited Kinango Institute and Vocational College, our KWS officers are in the process of constructing a proper fence for the wild animals to keep them within park so as to eradicate cases of human-wildlife conflict,’’ she said.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson added that the government is committed to solving the challenge to ensure people living within wildlife vicinities were going about their lives without disruptions, especially, on food security as aligned with BETA.
According to her, government projects are meant to empower locals, improve their livelihood and uplift their living standards.
‘’These projects are being implemented by the government to empower its citizenry and transform their lives through opportunities. Therefore, go to the affordable housing construction sites and seek for employment or go to the Jitume Hubs and earn a living from online opportunities.”
She echoed President William Ruto’s assurance that such hubs would be set up in every constituency so that they could open opportunities to the youths to earn a living.
“Nowadays, most youths are earning good money from the Jitume Hubs. President Ruto is opening more avenues to our youths both in urban and rural areas to take advantage for their own good.”
Kinango MP Samuel Gonzi Rai urged the locals to embrace the government and support president’s leadership through his current broad-based government that had incorporated members of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
“This government will transform the lives of the people of Kinango and Kenya at large because our President is focused on the development that will transform lives of the people, therefore let us support President William Ruto’s leadership.’’
