Some 300 children from various orphanages are set to benefit from a series of charitable and empowerment programs as the festive season approaches in Mombasa County.

The initiative comes amid renewed calls for Kenyans and well-wishers to remember vulnerable groups while families across the country prepare to celebrate Christmas and the end-of-year holidays.

Speaking during the commemoration of Charity Week at Masai Koroga in Nyali area, marketing manager Josphat Iha said the programs aim to rekindle hope among disadvantaged children.

“We are sending a message of encouragement to the children, and we urge Kenyans and all well-wishers to remember the needy during this festive month,” he said.

Marketing strategist Stella Muthoni noted that children from several Mombasa orphanages have been the main beneficiaries of Masai Koroga’s week-long outreach, which focuses on giving back to the community.

“We are targeting over 50 children every day throughout the week, meaning more than 300 will be reached in this initiative aimed at remembering vulnerable members of the community,” she said.

The establishment has organized a lineup of activities including shared meals, dancing, and gift-giving to offer the children moments of joy and a sense of belonging.

American well-wisher, Mike Ritter, a friend of the Masai Koroga establishment, praised the effort emphasizing the importance of community support.

“I am proud to be part of this gesture. Remembering the needy is an act of generosity, and it is important for us as a community to live together in love and harmony,” Ritter said.

The initiative serves as a reminder of the power of community and the impact that collective efforts can have on the lives of those in need.

As Kenyans prepare to celebrate Christmas and the end-of-year holidays, the call to remember the less fortunate has never been more pressing.
