Invest in Stadia County Government Told

Jomvu Mp Badi Twalib has called on the Mombasa County government to complete the stalled stadium to ehnace sporting activities.
Speaking in Jomvu during a watch party for the Harambee Stars CHAN match against Zambia on Sunday, Badi decried the wasted talents due to lack of adequate training facilities.
He called on Governor Abdulswa Sherrif Nassir to prioritize the completion of the stadium saying Mombasa has the potential for sports tourism.
According to Badi, Mombasa being that second major city in Kenya should not be lacking a functional stadium.
He urged the government to offer a lending had for the upgrade of sports facility in Mombasa ahead of the African Cup of Nations football bonanza (AFCON) slated to be played in both Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in 2027.
“Players can train in Mombasa as they wait for their next match in Nairobi, i therefore i appeal to the governor to move with speed to see that Mombass benefits from AFCON’, he said.
Badi also applauded the national football team for incorporating players from all over Kenya saying the CHAN matches have shown that the Coastal counties have good players.
” I take pride in our very own Juma Masoud. I’m very proud today for their talents and the win too”, he added.

The legislator also called for the investment of different types of sports apart from football saying their is potential.
He highlighted basketball game which he said is growing in popularity in Mombasa.
“Football is popular but we need to diversify to other cadres of sports because we have participants who are determined to make it”, he added.
The Mp also revealed top gear plans for the construction of a basketball pitch in Mikindani location to ehnace the sport.
He said the pitch will have modern basketball equipments and a standard pitch to grow talents.
Badi however, said the governor has already agreed to partner with his office to develop some sporting facilities.
The legislator also welcomed president William Ruto’s gesture on rewarding the Harambee stars players with millions of shillings for winning any CHAN match saying it has boosted the morale of the team.

” Thank you President Ruto. Our boys are playing with vigour and winning their games because of your rewarding them with cash”he stated.
The football watch party was attended by many sports lovers with Harambee Stars winning the match 1-0 and proceeding to the knock out stages.
