The benchmarking visit provided a dynamic platform for exchange of knowledge on safety protocols, maritime regulations and environmental protection frameworks.
Other areas of interest were ship-building, maritime education and training, follow up on the recognition agreement in accordance with STCW Reg I/10, cadetship and seafarer employment practices in view of emerging technologies, regional maritime trade and shipping.
Through open dialogue and collaborative engagement, both countries reaffirmed their dedication to building a sustainable and resilient maritime future.
Participants engaged in insightful discussions on current regulatory trends, innovations in maritime safety, implementation of IMO instruments (IMSAS) and practical approaches to environmental conservation.
The visit also included guided tours of key KMA operational centers, offering the Tanzanian delegation a firsthand look at Kenya’s maritime governance infrastructure.

“This engagement strengthens the bonds between our countries and reinforces our shared vision for a secure and thriving maritime sector,” said Fatuma Masenene, representing the TASAC director general.
As the visit concluded with strong partnerships at the heart of regional development, KMA remains committed to facilitating knowledge-sharing initiatives that shape the future of maritime excellence.
