KPA Pledge Full Support to Bandari Football Club

Bandari FC patron Captain William Ruto has challenged the club players to go for Mozzart Bet Cup title and at least a silver wear in the Kenya premier league this season.

Ruto, who is Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) managing director, pledged during a grant Iftar Dinner for Bandari FC players, Bandari Youth and Bandari Queens, to give out a new bus should they win the two titles for this season.

The patron urged the technical benches to maximize the potential of existing talent and actively seek out promising players within the community as it has been the tradition of Bandari and its philosophy in football and other sporting activities.

Capt Ruto emphasized the authority’s unwavering commitment to transform sports into a viable economic venture for local residents.

He challenged Bandari senior team to secure silverware and elevate Bandari FC to the pinnacle of success, both nationally and continentally.

In recognition of the team’s impressive performance, the MD also announced his commitment to securing a state-of-the-art bus, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for the players.

“We know you have a problem of a bus. We will honor that soon, but before we do that we want you to deliver to us good results. We want a bus that will stand out, because we are a big club and we don’t want our players to get tired when travelling for away matches,” he said.

Being the sponsor of Bandari FC, Capt Ruto pledged to continue supporting the team with funds while expressing hopes of winning at least a silver wear this season.

“As an entity, we are proud of you as our team. You have put our name on the map and therefore, we will continue supporting you to our best. We want you also to reciprocate by posting good results, because we love our team and our fans love you as well.”

The captain expressed hopes with the new Bandari signings the team would deliver their best as and carry the club flag high.

The Iftar dinner was held at the Mbaraki sports grounds and was attended by Mombasa football stakeholders.

Mombasa county Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Ahmed Alamin Abdalla reiterated the federations commitment to deliver good football leadership in the region.

“We love Bandari and Bandari as our only team here at the coast participating in the premier league, we must ensure they get the best leadership in football, we want to grow football from the grassroots so that we can create good transition players from junior to senior teams,” he said.

The coastal giants will play against Ulinzi Stars this Saturday in league tie before hosting Gor Mahia in a Mozart Cup match in their quest to finish at least top three this season.

Bandari is currently on the eight (8) place in the KPL table with 23 points. 

Last game they played with Tusker FC, which ended in a 0-0 draw. They have played 23 matches this season, Won eight matches nine ended in a draw and six were defeated.

This season the club welcomed lethal striker John Mark Makwata from Coastal Union in Tanzania, Ali Halafu from Division One side, Congo Boyz, Dennis Ng’ang’a formerly of Gor Mahia and Zanaco, and Clifford Ouma from Nairobi City Stars.
