Spanish club Gimnàstic de Tarragona (Nàstic FC) has turned its attention to Kenya’s Coast region with club scout Patrick Mayoyo currently in Mombasa to identify emerging football talent during the ongoing Sisi ni Dola Super Cup.
Mayoyo believes the five-week tournament is rapidly establishing itself as one of the region’s premier talent development platforms, attracting promising young players eager to make the leap into professional football.
Speaking after Juventus FC’s convincing 2-0 victory over Sango Sportiff at Mombasa Sports Club, the Nàstic scout praised both the standard of football and the quality of players on display.
“I want to congratulate Dola Group for organizing this tournament to identify emerging talent. There are scouts here, myself included, and I believe this year’s competition will not end without several players being identified,” he said.
Mayoyo, who also serves as Principal at St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale, an FKF talent scout and a Kenya youth national team coach, said grassroots competitions such as the Sisi ni Dola Super Cup provide the perfect bridge between local football and the professional game.
“The ongoing Sisi ni Dola Super Cup has the potential to produce the next generation of football stars. We have seen exceptional talent, and these young players now have an opportunity to showcase themselves before professional scouts,” he added.
Eighteen-year-old Brian Karisa was the standout performer as Juventus FC launched their campaign with an impressive 2-0 win over Sango Sportiff.
Karisa wasted little time making his mark, opening the scoring in the sixth minute before Enoch Lemayian doubled Juventus’ advantage in the 32nd minute to seal all three points.

The teenager’s outstanding display earned him the Man of the Match award, further strengthening his growing reputation as one of the tournament’s brightest prospects.
“I’m happy to be named Man of the Match. Our aim is to win the tournament and this award motivates me to work even harder,” he said.
The forward revealed his long-term ambitions of reaching the highest level of the game.
“I hope to play for a top club in Kenya like Gor Mahia, and one day fulfil my dream of playing for Chelsea in the English Premier League. It’s my first time participating in this tournament and I’m hoping for the best in the future.”
Juventus FC coach Peter Mayoyo expressed confidence that several players would attract interest from talent scouts before the tournament concludes.
“We have very good players this season and I am confident many of them will be spotted by scouts who have been deployed to watch the competition,” he said.
Dola Group Sports Director Hassan Kipapa said the competition continues to meet its objectives of nurturing football talent while providing young people with positive opportunities away from drugs and substance abuse.
“We have deployed scouts to identify outstanding talent throughout the tournament. Our goal is not only to help young players pursue football careers but also to keep our youth away from drugs and substance abuse through sport,” he said.

Other result elsewhere: Legacy FC edged Likoni United 1-0 with Abdullahi Siraj scoring the decisive goal in the 15th minute.
“With scouts from both local and international clubs monitoring proceedings, the Sisi ni Dola Super Cup is proving to be far more than just a tournament it’s becoming a gateway for the next generation of Kenyan football talent to step onto the professional stage,” Kipapa added.
