A section of Coast leaders allied to the Orange Democratic Movement and President William Ruto’s United Demonstrate Alliance have endorsed Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho for president in 2032.
The leaders said the CS has what it takes to serve as the sixth president of the republic of Kenya.
They spoke after joining Rabai MP Kenga Mupe to witness the disbursement of bursary cheques and handing over of a building build by NG-CDF at Kalio comprehensive school in Rabai of Kilifi County.
Those present included host Kenga Mupe, MP Rashid Bedzimba (Kisauni), MP Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Aharub Khatri (Speaker of Mombasa County Assembly), MP Mishi Mboko (Likoni) among a host of Kilifi MCAs.
They told Joho to soldier on his agenda.
Joho, while accepting the endorsement, said he was done with local politics and was now focusing on going for the country’s top seat.
“I am now serving the country as a CS, but my prayer is to become the president and this vision is possible. I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
That is why the unity of the Coastal leaders and that of the whole country is important,” he said.

He disclosed that his aim was to bring development at the national level.
Mupe on his part insisted that the region stands to gain more if it is united.
“With the broad-based government, the Coast, like any other region stand to get a bigger share of the national cake if we only speak with one voice,” he said.
He urged other leaders to support Joho’s bid saying he was the only one who had the muscle and had fought hard to be where he was today.
“Joho has shown national ambitions. This ambitions cannot end at regional level alone. For us to get more support outside first of all we must be united,” he added.
His Kisauni counterpart Bedzimba challenged coastal residents to desist from being divided on political affiliations and remain united to make sure Joho becomes president in 2032.
“When our President William Ruto finishes his two terms, we will front Joho. Of all those who want to run this country after Ruto, no one matches Joho’s profile.

So all of us as brothers and sisters lets unite and support his bid,” he said.
The legislator said if the whole region united and forged its support it would have a louder voice and greater bargaining powers at the national level.
Mishi Mboko and Badi Twalib said the whole region was supporting Joho and asked other leaders to support his bid.
