Blue Economy involves several sectors, industries and services such as fisheries, tourism and recreation, coastal protection, marine biotechnology, carbon sequestration, transport and trade, energy, minerals, waste disposal and biodiversity.
“The program seeks to harness the potential of the Blue Economy to create economic opportunities for young people while contributing to protecting ocean resources,”said Theuri.
According to Theuri, said out of the 935 young people they have supported since 2023 at least 30 percent will get funding in their new funding programe of between sh 50,000 to 600,000 as seed capital to their projects.
