William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration continues to deliver enormous projects across the country as part of the development agenda promised to Kenyans, the Deputy Government Spokesperson Ms Mwanaisha Chidzuga says.
Consequently, she is asking Kwale residents and Kenyans at large to seize opportunities from the “numerous” government projects and programs.
They include the affordable housing project, ongoing construction of a Maritime college at Chitsakamatsa, the Ksh 2.6 billion Shimoni fish project which she said is 61 percent complete, and a ginnery to bolster textile apparel value.
Others that she mentioned include construction of Kenya medical research institute laboratories, construction of a fish jetty cause-way among other projects in the blue economy.

The projects undertaken by the national government would benefit locals in Kwale County and Coast Region at large, she added.
“I wish to urge all Kwale residents to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by these government projects and programs to empower yourselves and earn a living,” she said.
She was speaking during her tour of Matuga, Kinango, Msambweni and Lungalunga constituencies. “All these projects by the national government comprise job opportunities for you, go get employed at these projects and you will earn a living out of them,” she said.
She argued that women, for instance, can cook and supply food at construction sites. “For our mothers who cannot get employed at the construction areas, you can decide to supply ready food to the people working at the construction sites, and that will boost your businesses,’’ Mwanaisha said.
She also advised youth and women who have informal businesses to register them so that they can do business with the government.

“Those of you with groups that are doing table banking, please register these groups as companies and apply for tenders in government. Your applications will be considered for these tenders and you will develop,” she said.
The move would also enable them to benefit from other schemes namely Inua Jamii, Hustler funds, and the women enterprise funds, among others, Mwanaisha added.
