Anorld Nzaka’s 80th minute goal was enough to take Red Revengers shoulder high as the Rabai Super Cup Soccer Championship curtains came down at Mwawesa ward in Rabai constituency.

The finals of the tourney saw Wonders FC battle it with Red Revengers in the finals played at Kazameni ground on Sunday25th September which saw Wonders falling by 2 goals against 1.

Wonders took the lead in the 17th minute courtesy of Rama Ndune but the joy was cut short by Nicholus Nzaka 16 minutes later after netting in the equalizer to settle the game at one all draw at breather.

The second half started on a high note with both teams pressing hard to clinch the top prize.

However in the 80 minutes wonders FC, wondered what had happened as Revengers FC revenged through Arnold Zoka who netted the second goal for his side.

In the girls category, Rayons girls emerged top after beating Mission girls by 4 goals to 3 in a match that was decided on spot kicks after a barren draw.

The winner of the championship at the ward level both boys and girls categories went home with a trophy,  two set of playing kit, two balls, football net, whistle, soccer boots  and 50,000 cash prize to wipe their sweat.

Wonders FC and Mission girls FC carried home a set playing kit, soccer ball, whistle and 30,000 cash while third placed Atomic girls and Black Mamba FC in boys category went armed with a set of playing kit, a ball and 10,000 cash prize.

This was the second finals of the Rabai Super cup championship sponsored by Rabai Member on national Assembly, William Kamoti after the first one played in Ruruma ward where Red Star FC defeated Hippo Rangers FC to emerge victorious at Mwanjama ground.

According to the area Mp, the aim of the tournament which is played across the constituency is to promote sport in the area and sensitize the young generation on the importance of sports.

Next will be Kambe / Ribe ward and Rabai/ Kisurutini ward to be last at the ward level before all the top four teams in each ward meet in what it dubbed round of 16 to fight for the top prize.

Red stars are the defending champions of the Rabai Super Cup and are faced with challenge of maintaining the cup when time come in the round 16.
